We cannot deny that the Fiat 500 is an extremely charming and city-friendly car. Its size makes it perfect for any urban setting since it will be able to get into any parking space, and if you are not looking for a big car, it can seem like a great option.

Yet, you should think twice before you go for this Italian car, and the reason why is its durability, which greatly impacts the longevity of this vehicle.

A lot of owners have been complaining about the mechanical issues that come with this car model, and it seems like they have not gotten better over the years. In particular, owners have been having issues with the transmission and electrical systems.

Since its problems can be frequent and they appear often, the repair bills for this car model can rank up quickly.

And if you are looking for a long-lasting car, this one may just be one to skip out on since it’s going to be more of a headache than anything else.

Ford Fiesta

Chevrolet Sonic

The Chevrolet Sonic may have a couple of mixed reviews regarding longevity, but it is on this list for a reason.

The Sonic does not have the most stellar reputation, but some people love the car despite others saying it is not as reliable as they would like it to be.

A lot of people love this Chevrolet model due to how comfortable it is and since it is one of the most user-friendly models when it comes to its technology.

However, owners have also reported numerous issues regarding the transmission and even the engine.

These are costly issues to repair, and since the engine is among those issues, it can mean a shorter-than-expected life for this vehicle, which is why many warn against purchasing this vehicle if you are looking for a long-lasting car.

Nissan Versa

When it comes to going for a subcompact car that is affordable and fuel-efficient, the Nissan Versa is one of the best choices out there. However, there are doubts about how reliable this small car is when you look at its longevity.

Automotive experts warn about this vehicle’s transmission, especially if you have one of the early models that has the CVT equipped. What’s more, owners of this early model have also faced issues with this part of the transmission.

Another reason why this car is not seen as one that will last long is because the overall build quality is lacking, along with the interior materials, so there is a high chance that the lifespan will be shorter than expected.

Since the car is considered affordable, it can be seen as not that much of a hassle, but do you want to risk it?

No matter the type of car you have, if you want it to last long when it comes to the interior, it is a good idea to add interior cleaning to your car’s maintenance. A great way to make sure you get all the grime and dust off the interior, along with any stray crumbs, is to get a great vacuum. This one here has never failed us!

  1. The best car I ever owned and still is using it everyday is my HONDA 2006 ELEMENT. I have this car for 18 years now and for sure it will outlive me. This is one car I will never sell or change. It is a car that can be converted to a utility car bringing big things from Home Depot. It will carry hollow blocks, pallets , plywood, bikes and 6 carts of groceries. It will also accommodate 2 shepherds and a cat. It can carry 5 people. During evacuation from wild fire, my element served as our hotel, comfortably sleeping 2 people for one week. Perfect head and leg room. Very low maintenance and low gas consumption. It can be a racing car too if the highway patrol is sleeping. I wish Honda had continued making Element model. It is the best.
