4. Chevrolet Chevelle SS
Among the top-rated American muscle cars is the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. The first muscle vehicle produced by Chevy was the Chevelle SS (Super Sport). Chevrolet sought to rectify the fact that it trailed far behind the Pontiac GTO when it was first shown in 1964.
By 1970, they had fitted a 7.5-liter V8 engine with 450 horsepower to the Chevelle SS, enabling it to reach 60 miles per hour in under five seconds. When it was on sale, it really had one of the quickest accelerations of any road automobile in the world.
