Let’s talk about fuel-guzzling cars because they can be a problem for any enthusiast driver!
When I was little, my mom, who’s never gotten her license, told me, “I want to buy a home, not a car. Whoever has a car won’t have money.” While I don’t agree with her, I have to admit that I can understand where she comes from. A vehicle can indeed make your life easier, more adventurous, and more comfortable overall, but it can also leave you penniless, especially if you don’t make the right decision when buying it or don’t take proper care of it.
If you want to have a fancy car, you need to have some money to maintain it. Besides insurance, regular washes, accessories, tires, and so many other things, fuel is one of the things you’ll have to pay for regularly. Since prices keep going up, many people are looking for fuel-efficient automobiles. Since we’ve already covered this subject (10 Most Fuel-Efficient Cars for 2024), we decided to discuss the most fuel-guzzling cars now. These automobiles are lovely, look fierce, and are a dream to drive, but a pain to maintain. If you want to see what we’re talking about, keep reading!

While it’s a fantastic car for off-road and road trips, keep in mind that it is a fuel-guzzling car, and it consumes around 13–20 mpg in the city and approximately 21–24 mpg on the highway.
4. 2022 GMC Canyon 4WD
My brother works as a car dealer, and he told me that he sold around 100 2022 GMC Canyon 4WD last year, and that’s because it’s a small but powerful truck. For those looking for a mid-size pickup truck with some of the features of a full-size vehicle, the 2022 GMC Canyon is a great option.
This one starts with its strong body-on-frame construction, adds a powerful V-6 and torquey diesel engine options, and finishes with an impressive 7700-pound towing capacity. This vehicle is built for serious performance every step of the way.
However, while many people love this vehicle, others prefer to shop around for different 4WD vehicles, as this GMC Canyon is a fuel-guzzling car. According to experts, it consumes no less than 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
5. 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor
The Raptor, first made in 2010, is the high-performance version of the F-150, Ranger, and Bronco. Named after both a velociraptor and a bird of prey, it’s designed to be a street-legal version of an off-road racing truck. Besides being a very beautiful vehicle, the F-150 Raptor is also quiet and comfortable, which is amazing for those who want to drive off-road and go on regular road trips.
However, as good as this one is, let’s not forget that it is a fuel-guzzling car, so it can be a pain to maintain it. According to experts, it consumes around 15 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. While it’s less than other automobiles we’ve previously talked about in this article, it’s still a lot, considering how big gas prices are.
6. 2024 Chevrolet Suburban
The Chevrolet Suburban has been a great option for families all throughout the country since it first debuted in 1935. Its long-running production history, dependable performance, and exceptional technological features have made it the nation’s most enduring automobile.

With its wide range of engine options, roomy cabin, and cutting-edge driver console technologies, the Suburban provides drivers and passengers with an unmatched level of comfort and capabilities.
However, as great as this automobile is, let’s not forget that it is a fuel-guzzling car, consuming around 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. If you don’t mind gas and insurance prices, you won’t regret getting this vehicle!
…We only have a couple of fuel-guzzling cars to talk about in today’s article, so stick with us until the end!
7. 2023 Nissan Armada 5.6
If you’re looking for an elegant and powerful vehicle, the 2023 Nissan Armada 5.6 is exactly what you need. It has a 400-horsepower V-8 engine and is one of the most popular SUVs on the market. This incredible automobile offers plenty of scoots even for the base model, which also has an amazing 8500-pound towing capability. You can get it with either rear- or four-wheel drive, and it will impress you with its three-row entertainment and luxury barge.
Moreover, its open-pore wood trim pieces, headrest-mounted display screens, and heated quilted leather seats give this Nissan a little of Bentley energy at the upper end of the Armada grade levels. Is pretty great, but don’t forget that this is a fuel-guzzling car, as it consumes 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.
8. 2023 Infiniti QX 80 5.6
After over ten years of development, the 2023 Infiniti QX80 has evolved significantly from its less expensive sibling, the Nissan Armada, even though they share several main components. The QX80 is a stylish and luxurious SUV with elegant features, but since nothing is perfect, this one also has a couple of drawbacks.
Compared to newer, flashier, and more powerful rivals like the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and Cadillac Escalade, the QX80 can save you a few thousand dollars. However, it costs significantly more than the Nissan Armada without offering much that’s unique. Besides that, it is even more fuel-guzzling than the Armada, with 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. So before you consider getting a new car, make sure you talk to different experts and take all of these aspects into consideration.
Regardless of what car you plan on getting or if you decide to stick with the one you already have, don’t forget to keep it clean and neat. Speaking of that, here’s one of my favorite products to keep it shiny and pretty.
