Onyx RCR

The Onyx RCR is rather a minimalist take on what you could consider if you’re looking to close the gap between an electric bike and a full-fledged electric motorcycle. Truth be told, you can spec it in two different formats: a street kit and a dirt kit.

Their use cases are quite self-explanatory, but they’re very similar in terms of hardware. Also, depending on the kind of battery pack you use, the range could vary between 75 and 120 miles. Moreover, you can also customize the suspension height. The Onyx RCRs won’t promise a fast ride, but they might show an affordable way to switch to electric power.

Surron Ultra Bee

What I mentioned at the very beginning of the article holds true: manufacturers are making electric bikes of all shapes and sizes to cater to every single possible kind of demand. That’s also where the Surron Ultra Bee comes into the spotlight.

This is the manufacturer’s main attempt when it comes to populating the electric trail bike segment, which is not really short of options. It might feature a lightweight forged aluminum frame, a completely adjustable 37mm inverted fork with 9.4 inches of travel, and no less than three ride modes.

Power also comes courtesy of a permanent magnet synchronous motor that offers 16.7 horsepower and a staggering 325 lb-ft of torque. There’s also a claimed 80 horsepower and a massive 691.8 lb-ft of torque going right to the rear wheel, all from a 6.5 kWh battery.

What’s even nicer about it is that the Varg is actually very customizable. You have the option to choose your rear wheel size, whether you like a side stand included, a suspension setup tailored to your weight, or a lower variant.

In fact, you can even choose how you want to operate the rear brake, either by foot or hand. You can get up to 6 hours of riding time, and a full charge takes around two hours, according to Stark Future.

Zero FX

Electric dirt bikes aren’t that common on the market nowadays, but Zero Motorcycles has quite an impressive lineup of dual-sport bikes in its range. LiveWire S2 Del Mar

The second electric motorcycle to come from Livewire, the electric Harley-Davidson subsidiary, the Livewire S2 Del Mar, is a much cheaper alternative. LiveWire ONE

Harley Davidson’s electric motorcycle gained a ton of popularity when it became available to the public back in 2019. Sadly, it also got tons of criticism thanks to its $30,000 price tag, which alienated the environmentally-conscious millennial target group of the American motorcycle manufacturer.

However, it is still one of the most badass electric motorcycles. Back in 2021, Harley-Davidson made LiveWire its own subsidiary. Nowadays, the LiveWire ONE is still available for $22,799. Making 100 horsepower with 84 pound-feet of torque, the Livewire ONE has an incredible speed of 110 mph.

To call the LiveWire ONE an electric Harley-Davidson wouldn’t be completely wrong, but the brand now has its own identity, and they’re really trying to cement it.
