While it sounds like a nightmare situation, it is something that actually happens to a lot of drivers.

A lot of American drivers have reported that they have been disappointed with their choice of vehicles, so much so that they would never be caught investing money in the same model ever again.

A survey has exposed how many of them would consider getting these car models, and one of them has scored less than 40% of the audience!

It is surprising that there are car models that are quite popular but people would avoid buying them, but at the same time, if you are a seasoned driver and you have car troubles, you would not want to risk it again!

Kia Forte

Drivers who would rebuy this car if they had the chance: 47%

This Kia model starts at $19,990, and it has become a great car for those who are looking for compact options, be it in two-door, five-door hatchback, or four-door sedan configurations.

However, for as affordable and versatile as this car seems to be, only a little under 50% of owners would end up repurchasing it.

This is mainly due to certain models underperforming, being risky, and having to undergo a number of pricey fixes. Along with transmission issues, these models have been pricey enough to sour the view owners had of the car.

While these issues are not to be taken lightly, they only appear in certain models (2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017), leaving the rest to be considered a safe choice.

Volkswagen Taos

Drivers who would rebuy this car if they had the chance: 38%

Volkswagen Taos has been a popular choice when it comes to acquiring a compact SUV, but in the last few years, drivers have started to be divided on how reliable and worthwhile it is to get this car.

With over 60% of previous owners not wanting to repurchase it, it seems like the issues they have encountered have made this Volkswagen model pretty unpopular with the masses.

The most touted issues seem to be with the gas pump and fuel system; a lot of them complained that they had to change the injectors, pumps, harness, and fueling system and still had to deal with issues after all the changes.

Others have complained about the technical parts, especially the screen and the brake system, which seemed to have been vibrating and sometimes even prematurely breaking for no reason.

This model has had a number of recalls over the years, which have made drivers either use the buyback or trade-in options for their cars.

Kia Seltos

The Kia Seltos is a good-looking car that has attracted the attention of many, yet less than 50% of current owners would consider repurchasing this car!

It is pretty surprising given that at one point the Kia Seltos was one of the most popular subcompact SUVs on the market, due to its sleek and sporty look that is packed with features for an affordable price (the starting MSRP is $24,490).

However, there are a couple of issues that stop people from truly being able to enjoy this car. The most common ones include quality concerns (specifically around the glass) along with engine and transmission issues.

There is nothing worse than getting a bigger car and then having transmission issues.

Not to mention, the car is equipped with popular fuel-saving features, but it is also one that is problematic, causing the car to randomly shut off when you least expect it.

Kia Sorento Hybrid

Drivers who would rebuy this car if they had the chance: 42%

With a starting price of $36,990, this hybrid car would seemingly be more popular with the driving crowd.

However, there are some issues that make people hesitant to go back to the car.

They are not as plentiful as other cars on this list, but they are enough to make people second-guess whether they would repurchase this hybrid SUV.

Some of the things that owners are not happy about are the lack of wireless compatibility with both Apple and Android models, along with the capacitive touch buttons (which is more of a personal gripe than a general issue).

Others have mentioned that despite the generally good EV range of the Sorento Hybrid, the capacity seems to be dropping off, and many have not been able to hit the estimated ranges.

Add to this that most dealerships ask over the MSRP when you want to purchase one, and many people do not feel any need to return this car.

Nissan Sentra

Drivers who would rebuy this car if they had the chance: 39%

The score is pretty low for this Nissan model, despite this marque only now making its appearance on this list. Despite this, this sedan car has been seen as quite reliable over the years, so why is it that suddenly drivers avoid wanting to purchase this car?

The answer is simple: there are a number of issues that can arise on the model from that year that would definitely stain your relationship with this car model.

There are a number of Nissan Sentra models that are considered to be the best (including the 2006, 2009, 2010, and 2018 ones), but the rest may be the true answer as to why drivers are giving up on this car model.

Among the issues that many owners state, the most important ones include suspension, wheel and hub issues, faulty breaks, bad paint and trims, steering woes, and poor CVT performance, just to name a couple.

Add to them the fact that the car makes weird noises while being driven, and now we can truly see the whole picture as to why people are choosing to leave this model behind after one purchase.

Infiniti QX50

Drivers who would rebuy this car if they had the chance: 25%

While this luxury SUV could be a very handsome car to own, the price tag that comes along with a car that 75% of drivers would avoid buying again is suspicious.

The Infiniti QX50 has an average starting price of $41,000, and there seem to be a number of issues with this model that keep happening with each iteration.

The car seems to have some hardware and software issues that bother owners, along with being an overall noisy car for no reason, with whining and speaking noises being heard frequently. Add to these some minor issues with the engine and fuel, and you have too many issues for such an expensive car.

There has also been a history of the company having to recall models due to safety issues. And this year’s car shares the same fate!

This year’s QX50 has been recalled due to issues with the airbags on the driver’s side! While this car is a great one visually, a lot of previous owners have sworn off this Infiniti model.
